Do you ever feel like your living room is missing that extra oomph? We felt that way, too. So we decided to play around with some designs and here's what we came up with!
We tested out a couple different styles that we’re dying to share.
But, first, take a look at the blank-canvas-before picture.
First, is our eclectic, traditional look. It’s welcoming to all, refreshing, and makes us want to sit down and read a good book. To begin, we chose the “centerpiece” on our mantel. From there, we added varying candlestick sizes that created balance through imbalance. We tied the wood and metal tones throughout the mantel, bookshelves, side table, and armchair. Overall, we blended colors and textures that are pleasing to the eye.
This next look we went for a boho, farmhouse. It’s cozy, warm, and makes us want to get lost in conversation. We. Are. Obsessed. This time around, we built the mantel design around the plants; adding books, candles, and pots into the mix. The two chairs, with funky pillows created a conversational space. Then we thought, why not top off the bookcases with a cute hat? So we did.
The best tip we have when decorating your mantel is to just try it. Place that candlestick next to that book or hang the picture next to the hat. If it doesn’t look right, try again (or give us a call).
Now don’t forget to sit back and enjoy your hard work - sometimes some diet club soda in a champagne glass is the perfect way to celebrate. Cheers!
